Student hosts have the rare opportunity to network with peers behind the scenes, engage with Academy staff, and meet leaders in the profession all while volunteering in person at the 2022 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®). In return for 6-8 hours of onsite work, Student Hosts will be randomly selected to receive a reduced student member registration of $35 for FNCE® 2022­.  For more information, please review the following critical dates and frequently asked questions.

  • Application Deadline: Friday, July 29 (11:59 pm Central)
  • Notification of Acceptance Status: Thursday, August 4
  • FNCE® Registration: August 5 – August 31

Frequently Asked Questions

All student category members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the June 1, 2022 – May 31, 2023, membership year are eligible for a student host role at FNCE®.

Yes. Student membership will be verified prior to consideration of acceptance. If you need to reactivate your student membership, please visit the Academy’s student membership page.

Yes. All student host roles require in person participation at FNCE® in Orlando, Florida.

After notifications are sent on August 4. Special instructions are provided to all student host applicants to register at the appropriate discounted rate

All student hosts will be required to volunteer for a minimum of six hours, with a maximum of eight hours, while at FNCE®. All final assignments will be made based on the availability provided in the student host application.
Assignments vary by date and time during FNCE®. Typical assignments include, but are not limited to, assistance at the registration area, workshop/symposium check-in, room monitoring, speaker ready room support, badge scanning, packing/unpacking/set up help in the Academy Avenue, and mother’s room check-in.

No. All final assignments will be made based on the availability provided in the student host application.

Yes. Mandatory online training will be provided to all student hosts prior to arriving in Orlando, Florida.
Yes. All eligible member students are encouraged to apply. Please be realistic about your anticipated availability if your schedule is still unknown.
