Dr. Andie Lee Gonzalez is a native to South Texas. Currently, she serves as a US Pediatric Medical Science Liaison for Abbott Nutrition, is co-owner of Complete Nutrition Solutions LLC and is adjunct professor at South Texas Community College. As a first-generation Latina college student, she attended Michigan State University through the College Assistant Migrant Program where she received her BS in Dietetics. Through her experiences Dr. Gonzalez has developed a strong passion for dietetics and helping to build up the next generation of registered dietitians (RD). In addition, Dr. Gonzalez mentors countless Latinx students for the Latinos and Hispanics in Dietetics and Nutrition (LAHIDAN) group, for Diversify Dietetics and for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Dietetics program. Dr. Gonzalez is involved in professional leadership at the local, state and national level. She has served on the LAHIDAN executive committee in various roles, including Chair. In 2019 Dr. Gonzalez completed the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Leadership Institute. Her capstone project involved building pathways to enable access to diverse students to pursue a degree in dietetics. Dr. Gonzalez interest in leadership spans from her education and from her own experiences finding a unique path to become an RD.
