Nutrition on Demand
Shelley Maniscalco, MPH, RDN started Nutrition On Demand in 2016 as a way to leverage her 20+ years working on nutrition science, communication, and activation in the DC metro area, providing strategic nutrition support to national organizations and solution-based support to individuals and families.
She began her career in DC in corporate wellness, moving to the National Academies to work on the Dietary Reference Intakes. Her next endeavor focused on conducting health professional and consumer research and incorporating findings into communications on a variety of nutrition topics at the International Food Information Council. Immediately before creating Nutrition On Demand, Shelley led communications for the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate at USDAs Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion and built the USDA/CNPP Nutrition Communicators Network partnership program from the ground up.
Since leaving USDA, Shelley has focused on supporting a wide range of corporate clients, families, and individuals in meeting nutrition-related goals and joyfully wears multiple hats as a dietitian, advisor, entrepreneur, coach, and mom. Her credentials include a bachelors degree in Nutrition Science from Penn State University, a masters degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and she is a registered dietitian.
