Heather Hartline-Grafton, DrPH, RD is a consultant in nutrition policy and research. Dr. Hartline-Graftons work primarily focuses on obesity, dietary quality, and health among low-income and food-insecure children and families, with emphasis on how the federal nutrition programs improve food security, health, nutrition, and well-being. She also has been actively involved in efforts to address food insecurity in health care settings. Particularly relevant to her FNCE 2022 presentation, Dr. Hartline-Grafton worked for over a decade at the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC). She spearheaded FRACs nutrition policy and food security research efforts on a wide-range of topics, including the weaknesses of the 2006 Thrifty Food Plan and the importance of SNAP benefit adequacy for health and well-being. Dr. Hartline-Grafton is a Registered Dietitian and holds honors bachelors degrees in nutritional sciences and dietetics from the University of Delaware, an M.P.H. in nutrition from the University of North Carolina, and a Dr.PH. in community health sciences from Tulane University.
